On the morning of November 12th, the “2019 World Tour” CIIE Guizhou Economic and Trade Conference (Huaxi District, Guiyang) and China-New Zealand Cultural Exchange Conference—Trade & Business Tasting Event have been successfully held at Qing He Gourmet Food Plaza. The Event was hosted by the People’s Government of Huaxi District of Guiyang and Guiyang Municipal Commerce Bureau, and was organized by the World Alcohol Beverage Alliance (WABA) and Guizhou Shenghe Business Management Company.
Tong Hui, Chief Executive of Huaxi District Government, attended the Event and gave a welcome speech. She said that Huaxi is a tourist destination with strong ethnic charm, and the hospitable Huaxi people have jointly shaped a romantic Huaxi wine culture. She also expressed a warm welcome to New Zealand wine businesses, looking forward to their visit and investment in Huaxi District, in Guiyang City or in Guizhou Province, to press on a deeper cooperation for the two countries in trade, culture, wine making and other areas.
Later, Raymond of WABA International Projects Department delivered a speech. In his speech, he hoped to use wine as a “media” to allow more Chinese people to get to know the fine wines from New Zealand, therefore to boost the exchange of Chinese and New Zealand wine culture and further promote the tourism industry in both countries.
Following Raymond’s address were promotions made by the representatives from different wineries, they were Soljans Estate, Steve Bird, Stanley Estates, Te Mata Estate, and Kiwi Manuka, during which Justin, of Kiwi Manuka, attracted an extensive attention with his fluent Chinese, and the mead of his winery has gained its popularity among the citizens.
2019 is the year of tourism for both China and New Zealand, a time when WABA has brought many New Zealand food and wine brands to attend the Second China International Import Expo. The Event, served as an extension of CIIE landing Guizhou, has brought a variety of fine wines to the Guizhou people, creating a platform of communication and exchange for both Chinese and New Zealand businesses, injecting new vigor into Guiyang’s grape wine economy.
