With the continuous improvement of living standards of our residents, the demand for imported food increased year by year.
In 2016, China’s imported 132.4 million, 39.188 million tons, 46.62 billion dollars food from 187 countries (regions). Respectively, year on year growth is 10.4%, 7.8% and 1.5%. Which imports the amount of food trade in the top 10 were: EU, ASEAN, USA, New Zealand, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Russia, Korea and Chile; and meat, aquatic products, oil, dairy products, grain and products, alcohol, sugar, beverages, dried nuts and pastry biscuits as the main types of imported food.
In 2016, AQSIQ further improved the import food safety supervision system, strict import food inspection and quarantine supervision, vigorously implement the responsibility of imported food production operators, and actively promote food safety international co-governance and effectively protect the safety of imported food.
WABA aims to unite the industrial resources, economic resources, social resources, establish a scientific and standardized industrial science standard system, inherit, cultivate, maintain a good brewing culture and actively serve consumers to promote the healthy development of international wine industry. We work closely with states, organizations, government and non-government, to formulate guidelines and policies so as encourage the growth of the industry in a sustainable and eco-friendly manner.
WABA hopes to better guide the whole society to understand the overall situation of imported food. Builds an information sharing platform with government, enterprises and consumers, and provides a reference for all levels of inspection and supervision departments by ‘2016 White Paper of Quality & Safety of Imported Food’. At the same time, WABA wants to provide basic data support for China’s food industry, quality and safety management and development strategy.
