Moutai Group Tianchao Shangpin Cocktail Experience
Cash Prize for
Auckland’s Most Creative Cocktail Mixer
Moutai Group Tianchao Shangpin is a baijiu (sorghum-based distilled white spirit) which is a strong (53% alc/vol) widely popular in China.
Moutai Group Tianchao Shangpin is a new blend produced by Kweichow Moutai Group (KMG), maker of Moutai, recognized as China’s national drink, but sold at very high prices.
KMG have introduced Tianchao to meet a demand for a more market-friendly priced baijiu, with a subtle distinctive flavour designed to appeal to Western tastes.
About to be released in New Zealand by Glengarry group and a NZ-based company affiliated to KMG, the franchisees see Moutai Group Tianchao Shangpin not only on its own for enjoyment with food, but also as the base spirit of a new range of cocktails, following in the footsteps of gin and vodka.
Accordingly, Glengarry, as the exclusive stockists of Tianchao, in conjunction with the NZ franchisee, has arranged with SkyCity to hold a competition, “Moutai Group Tianchao Shangpin Cocktail Experience” open to bars and restaurants, in the first instance in the Greater Auckland region, to find the Moutai Group Tianchao Shangpin Cocktail most popular with a celebrity judging panel.
Entrants will be supplied free of charge with a 500 ml bottle of Moutai Group Tianchao Shangpin (Pictured). Entries open on 13 May and will close on 18 May. Entrants will be required to mix and present their cocktails to the sole judge, Miss Li Tong (recent winner in Mexico of the world-wide Patron Perfectionists Cocktail competition) in a private presentation in the Huami Restaurant and Bar, at Sky City (entrance on Federal Street) on Tuesday, 5 June, at a time to be arranged between 10 a.m. and 12 noon. The winner will be announced publicly during a dinner at Sky City, on Saturday evening 9 June. The winner will receive a cash prize.
