Overview
HISTORY
The World Alcohol Beverage Alliance (WABA), was established on September 9, 2014 during the 4th China (Guizhou) International Alcoholic Beverage Expo. The Alliance symbolizes the first official global alcoholic beverage organization. It`s goals are to unite members of the alcohol beverages industry involved in production, distribution, scientific research, training, and other alcohol industry related elements so as to promote the growth and sustainability of the industry. WABA was formed in Guiyang, China on the initiative of more than 300 alcohol industry related associations and organizations representing 60 countries. The purpose of the Alliance is to actively promote the development, growth, and sustainability of the global alcohol beverage industry. In order to achieve this, WABA will build a common platform for sharing innovation, culture, and resources; jointly release financial indexes concerning the global alcohol industry; publish authoritative and guiding documents; and create a large unifying database and data analytical model so as to support existing and emerging members of the alcohol industry.
LEADERSHIP
The first rotating Presidency of the Alliance is held by Dr. Ante Simonič, former Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia; with the rotating post of Vice-President held by Mr. Chavalit Yongchaiyudh former Prime Minister of Thailand. Honorary members include Chairman of the China Food and Animal Import and Export Chamber of Commerce Mr. Bian Zhenhu; President of the China Alcohol Association Mr. Wang Yancai; President of the China Alcohol Circulation Association Mr. Wang Xinguo; President of the China Entry-Exit Inspection Quarantine Association Mr. Ge Zhirong; President of the China Inspection Quarantine Academy of Sciences Li Xinshi. In order to facilitate the development of the alcoholic beverage industry, WABA has created the WABA Institute for Research (WABAIR) and has appointed as President of the Institute Mr. Li Wuwei, Vice Chairman of the 11th National People's Political Consultative Conference and renowned economist. The aim of the Institute for Research is to conduct and share innovation, provide technical expertise and policy advice, and release authoritative documents regarding the global alcoholic beverage industry. Furthermore, WABAIR will build a talent training and talent cultivation system for the alcoholic drinks industry in cooperation with research institutes, education and academic organizations from all over the world. Such training system shall utilize a common training method as to establish a standard for the industry.
OBJECTIVES
WABA will make efforts in many aspects such as guiding authoritative policy information compilation and issuance, alcohol industry personnel system, construction and technical innovation, inheriting traditional historical culture to promote cultural exchange, assist educational training to promote talents cooperation, explore information resources to improve modern economic development. WABA will also make efforts on the industrial level with manufacturers and managers in order to improve industrial development, resource saving, ecological conservation, economic growth, cultural prosperity and social improvement. In addition to research and training WABA is pushing for a greater integration of the global alcohol industry within electronic platforms. The Alliance believes that a more integrated industry requires a common database to share knowledge as well as a common, trusted, and advanced e-commerce platform to perform transactions. To achieve this the Alliance is working closely with the city of Guiyang, China to utilize their cloud computing databases as well as their expert knowledge and experience.
CURRENT INITIATIVES
I)Establishing three bases:
1. Creation of China-Central Asia-Russia
liquor export base.
2. Construction of overseas Chinese liquor
demonstration and sales bases.
3. Formation of the International Research
Institute of Alcohol Beverage training base.
II)Establishing Four Platforms:
1. Common platform for international
trade in alcohol beverages.
2. Common platform for cross-border
alcohol beverage e-commerce.
3. Common platform for providing services for companies engaging in foreign trade in alcohol beverages.
4. Common platform for providing
international shipping service for China alcohol producers.
III)Establishing Five Centers:
1. Conference center for the World Alcohol
Beverage Alliance.
2. Comprehensive electronic database
center for Chinese alcohol industry.
3. Common information exchange center
for alcohol industry international fair.
4. Common resources center for alcohol
industry related manufacturing and
packaging equipment.
5. China alcohol beverage import/export certification center.
Finally, the Alliance aims to provide a forum for States and Members as well as international and other organizations for the exchange of views and experiences. The forum will facilitate co-operation and co-ordination of efforts on world alcohol beverage issues, including studies on such issues in order to develop practical solutions.

Driven by emergence of WABA and the International Research Institute of Alcohol Beverages. WABA Operation’s in (China) Guizhou, Hong Kong and International Offices in Romania and New Zealand. Established to support and enhance the Alliance.
Utilizing the WABA network as a hub, with a vision to became world class alcohol beverage service centers for boosting the growth of the Alliance and providing a full range of functionalities for Alliance members.
